Editor’s Note: Many of our readers may remember a brilliant television comedy program called, “Are You Being Served”. This was a British sitcom from 1972-1985, created and written by executive producer David Croft (Croft also directed some episodes) and Jeremy Lloyd, with contributions from Michael Knowles and John Chapman, for the BBC. Set in London, the show follows the misadventures and mishaps of the staff of the retail ladies' and gentlemen's clothing departments in the flagship department store of a fictional chain called Grace Brothers. The series included many well loved actors, including some who are now sadly deceased, Frank Thornton, Mollie Sugden, John Inman, Wendy Richard and Nicholas Smith appeared in all 69 episodes. The series later included Arthur English, Alfie Bass and for a short time, one of our distant family cousins, Malcolm Hebden who later became famous due to his long standing role in Coronation Street, the ITV north country soap opera.

The reason we mention this TV series is that one of our reporters is working on a new book to be called “Are You Being Un-Served” and it is definitely not a comedy, although some of our readers may view it as such. This new book is of a political nature and reviews the four years, 2017-2021 of the chaotic Trump Presidency and how this family almost destroyed America with its greed and avaricious nature, and the nepotism and appointments of their cronies into positions of power they were not qualified to hold.  For more details, view our item Book of the Month further down in our Newsletter.

1. Business & Education: Victory for the Truth

In 2016, Reveal published a major investigation into Planet Aid, a group that received millions of dollars in U.S. government funds for aid programs in impoverished areas of southern Africa. The reporting tied the charity to an alleged cult and raised significant questions about whether the funds from the U.S. and other governments actually were reaching the people they were intended to help. A few months later, Planet Aid filed a libel lawsuit against Reveal that listed 80 objections to our reporting. The group sought $25 million in damages – an amount that’s twice our annual budget and could have forced Reveal to shut down. To read the full report, go to our NEWS DESK link.

Editor’s Note: The truth always prevails. Reveal News.org is an investigative reporting team that reveals the lies and cover-ups of politics, commerce and religion. Another non-profit group, the MTC International Foundation is about to publish a book titled, “Masters & Slaves of Modern Religion” that covers various modern religions that operate as dangerous cults. There are already indications of legal threats to stop and block the publication of this new book and apply to the courts for a complete ban. But to reassure our readers, the truth always prevails. In the words of George Washington (1732-1799) the First President of the United States of America, “Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.”

The announcement earlier this week that Amazon would be centering its Africa operations in Cape Town was followed up with the news that the company would be the key tenant in a new R4 billion development, River Club that will be built on the confluence of the Liesbeek and Black Rivers, Observatory. At the same time, the developer released renderings of what River Club would look like. To read the full report and see some images, go to our NEWS DESK link.

The Home Office has announced several changes to the UK Immigration rules that will take place in 2021, says Breytenbachs Immigration Consultants. Workers from overseas, especially those in key health and care roles, will benefit from positions added to the Shortage Occupation List (SOL), the group said. When a job occupation is on the SOL, persons in these roles will find it easier to qualify for a skilled worker visa. From April 2021, Breytenbachs said that the UK Government will include the following occupations in the UK list.  To read the full report and jobs available, go to our NEWS DESK link.

Zimbabwe plans to sell the right to shoot as many as 500 elephants for as much as $70 000 per animal to help fund the upkeep of its national parks. The hunting season, which takes place over the southern hemisphere winter, will resume this year after the corona virus pandemic scuppered plans to have elephants shot by foreign tourists in 2020.  Zimbabwe has the world’s second-biggest elephant population and neighboring Botswana has the largest. Both have been criticized by environmental groups for their plans to profit from elephant hunting. Botswana is resuming hunting after a five-year ban. The southern African country draws most of its hunters from U.S., Russia, Mexico and the European Union. In addition to paying for the license to kill the elephant the tourists pay professional hunters to guide them and have their trophies treated by taxidermists and exported back to their home countries. To read the full report, go to our NEWS DESK link.

Editor’s Note: As a reminder of how these elephants, some of God’s creatures need to be taken of in a humanitarian way; we invite you to read this article and see the short video clip of how Cher, singer and actor saved the life of the loneliest elephant in the world. Click here.

6. Education: Photos of London in 1902
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

In 1902 the American author Jack London visited his namesake city – at the time when it was still the largest in the world. In a book that became to be known as The People of the Abyss he described the time when he lived in the Whitechapel district sleeping in workhouses, so-called doss-houses and even on the streets. It was said that about half a million people were living in these awful and terrible conditions in Britain’s capital city. London took the photographs that illustrated his extraordinary book (between 1900 and 1916 the American writer took more than 12 thousand photographs). London was most disturbed by the number of “old men, young men, all manner of men, and boys to boot, and all manner of boys” who had no other choice other than to sleep on the streets. “Some were drowsing standing up; half a score of them were stretched out on the stone steps in most painful postures…the skin of their bodies showing red through the holes, and rents in their rags.” To read the report and see these photos, go to our NEWS DESK link.

The iconic Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, with support from Wildlife ACT, has released a new pack of Endangered African Painted Dogs into their new home. This is an important milestone in the conservation of this species as they are the most endangered carnivore in Southern Africa, with an estimated 3000-5000 individuals left in the wild, of which only 550 individuals are found in South Africa. Book of the Month

Soon to be published book of the month. Are You Being Un-Served ©

This is a most unusual item in our regular Newsletter as this book has not even been completed to date but it includes the factual account of how the Trump family almost destroyed America with the greed of the family members, and the nepotism and appointments of their cronies into positions of power they were not qualified to hold.  The book opens with the words from the famous song, “America the Beautiful” that is a patriotic American song. Its lyrics were written by Katharine Lee Bates (1859-1929) and its music was composed by church organist and choirmaster Samuel A. Ward (1848-1903) at Grace Episcopal Church in Newark, New Jersey.

America the Beautiful

Oh beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife
Who more than self, their country loved
And mercy more than life
America, America may God thy gold refine
'Til all success be nobleness
And every gain divined
And you know when I was in school
We used to sing it something like this, listen here

Oh beautiful, for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain
But now wait a minute, I'm talking about
America, sweet America
You know, God done shed his grace on thee
He crowned thy good, yes he did, in brotherhood
From sea to shining sea

You know, I wish I had somebody to help me sing this
(America, America, God shed his grace on thee)
America, I love you America, you see
My God he done shed his grace on thee
And you oughta love him for it
'Cause he, he, he, he crowned thy good
He told me he would, with brotherhood
(From sea to shining Sea)
Oh Lord, oh Lord, I thank you Lord
