1.Education
& Learning Online
=
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
During
the past few years our firm has seen the increasing demand
for online learning, education and training courses offered
over the Internet. Developing countries especially in Eastern
and Southern Africa are poised to introduce major steps forward
by introducing national programmes through government departments,
these schemes being backed by international sponsor and donation
funds.
The
main objective is to make up for the acute shortage of qualified
teachers and trainers, plus the current lack of computer hardware
and local courseware relevant to the local population.
Fortunately
the Internet now allows access to career courses and online
training modules on an international level. To assist in this
goal of providing suitable and relevant online learning, our
firm, along with experienced educationalists in the United
States has recently established an online training programme
known as the "Delamere
Institute of Online Learning."
The courses and modules are ideally suited for individuals
or groups and the list of categories will be expanded as our
research and demand for certain fields of training, especially
for employment qualifications, are recognized. For further
details read about our "Education Update" which covers
the topics of "Literacy" and "The Value of Education"
with specific reference to "Online Learning." Read

Does
the new 488-page "Finance Bill" issued recently by
the British Government, have hidden deep down in its text,
a new opportunity for the Treasury? Does The Treasury now
have far too wide a discretion to attack off shore tax havens?

A letter from the UK government - asking Gibraltar to explain
why it has not filed complete financial statistics since 1997
- has been met with renewed claims by Spanish media that the
Rock is a haven for money laundering. To read the full story,

4.World
Conference on Money Laundering
=
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
A
major conference is being scheduled in New York, related to
the now controversial issue of money laundering and holding
funds in off shore accounts. Since September 2001, the fight
against money laundering and terrorist funding has gained
momentum. Many governments, calling for dramatic anti-money
laundering initiatives, have passed new legislation and regulations.

of our readers have requested to be notified when international
upcoming events and seminars are scheduled to take place,
especially those held by "Internet.com" a leading information
provider. At regular intervals the very popular seminars,
"Search Engine Strategies-2002" and "E-Mail Strategies"
are schedules. To check the details of these and other events

The
importance of the Internet and information technology (IT) to
world growth was highlighted late last year when the UN Conference
on Trade and Development (Unctad) released its "E-Commerce
and Development Report 2001."
It warned of the negative consequences should developing countries
fall further behind the industrialized world in terms of technology.

8.
Book of the Month
=
= = = = = = = = = =
As
most of our readers are aware, our firm is a strong proponent
of making everyone cognizant of environmental issues, especially
as related to the building and construction industry.
This
month we are highlighting a new book on the subject of construction
and using natural interiors when we decorate or make improvements
to our home or office.
This
new publication is entitled "Natural Interiors." Natural
materials are not only visually appealing; they can also contribute
to our physical and emotional well being. Not only are they
less damaging to the environment as a whole, natural materials
can counter the pollutants and irritants in our home or work
place -- good for our health and good for our souls.
"Natural
Interiors" looks at the elements of nature that we can
bring into our homes or office--earth, water, fire, air, space,
color and light. It then discusses raw materials, such as
wood and stone, and how to choose walls, floors, furniture
and lighting. It concludes with a section on room design.

Trade with Africa. Interview with Tony Blair.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Many
of our clients, along with ourselves, have been following
the progress of the G8 Summit being held in Canada this past
week.
Of significant interest is the interview with Prime Minster,
Tony Blair on 27 June 2002, when he said, "It will be known
as the Summit that devoted the lion's share of its attention
to Africa."
We
will provide a more in depth review of the Summit in our next
Newsletter, but to
